About Us

Who is Rachel’s Well?
We are a non-profit 501c3 organization located in Fairfax County, Virginia.  Our mission is to improve women’s health by raising awareness, removing barriers to care, and stimulating research.

What do we do?
Rachel’s Well works to improve healthcare for women by focusing its efforts in the area of menstrual health and ovarian insufficiency.  We work with patients, doctors, researchers, lawmakers and the media on collaborative initiatives to fulfill our mission.  Our projects range from advocating for more research on menstrual related diseases to raising awareness about the importance of menstrual health.  Click here to learn more about our advocacy efforts.

Why butterflies?
The butterfly in our logo represents a woman and her struggle in dealing with her health.  She wants to have hope in the face of adversity and the butterfly is traditionally a symbol of hope.  She has to adapt her life and deal with physical pain and emotions that disease brings with it.  She is beautiful inside and out.  And as the butterfly wants to fly freely through the air, so she wants to be free from disease and live her life happily.
