Project Vital Sign® is our campaign to address POI as a critical health problem that affects girls and young women. We need your help, DONATE NOW.

Get Involved

Together, we can increase quality research and educate the public about the importance of the menstrual cycle and Primary Ovarian Insufficiency.  We can also increase knowledge in the medical community.  Research and awareness will give patients and their families hope, more options and ultimately better healthcare.

We don’t want any more girls or young women to suffer.  With our efforts we can ensure that women get diagnosed early and that is key to reducing suffering and preventing the development of serious health problems.

How can you get involved and help out?  Please contact Karima Hijane (Karima@RachelsWell.org) if you are interested and see below for some examples.

By getting others involved
Contact women with Primary Ovarian Insufficiency, friends, family and others, asking for their help and support.  They can help us work on the campaign by dedicating their efforts full or part time.  Some people can offer help on a very specific project or area of expertise.  We have a growing team of support members in communities across the nation.

By writing to congress
Write letters to your congressman and senators, educating them about Primary Ovarian Insufficiency and the importance of the menstrual cycle.  It is their obligation to serve you and your community, especially when it comes to important subjects as the well-being of their constituents.  Tell them your story or the story of someone who has been affected.  Even if you don’t pesonally know anybody that is affected by POI, you still can help and we have a letter template you can use.  We provide sample letters that can be used no matter what the situation.  With your help we can allocate important research funds and increase public awareness.  Research funds are the key to better treatments and finding a cure.

By raising public awareness
Educate the public about the importance of the menstrual cycle and Primary Ovarian Insufficiency.  Increasing public awareness can help others get diagnosed early and bring necessary attention to the disease.  Bringing familiarity can lead to better support through greater understanding.

By raising awareness with doctors
Educate the medical community about Primary Ovarian Insufficiency and its symptoms.  Increasing medical community awareness can help others get diagnosed early and provide healthcare options to more women, especially since so many doctors are not knowledgeable about it.  Also, help doctors understand how to deal specifically with women that have Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (proper emotional support options, etc.)

By fundraising
Raise money through donations.  You can ask for help from family members, friends, co-workers and others.  Host a fundraising event yourself or find a way to integrate our campaign into other social get togethers.  People are always willing to donate when they know their money is going towards a worthy cause.
